| Rio ´s Carnival
is legendary and is one of the few legends which lives up to it’s
billing. Taking up the best part of a week, Carnival, as a period
of celebration, is more important to the average Brazilian than
Christmas, the New Year- at times- even winning a World Cup. Carnival
is a mixture of street parades, some featuring the city’s famous
samba schools; Carnival balls to suit every taste and budget; and
a contagious revelry which takes over the hole city. The Carnival
start has changeable date, it’s always celebrated seven Sundays
before Ester Sunday. Dates for the Carnival parade coming years
are: 2001 / 24-25 February 2002
/ 9-10 February 2003
/ 1-2 March |
