2016 Olympic Games provide huge investment opportunities

The Brazilian heavy industry welcomed the announcement that Rio de Janeiro will host the 2016 Olympic Games. According to the president of the Brazilian Association of Infrastructure and Basic Industry (Abdib), Paulo Godoy, this news together with the subsalt reserves and the 2014 World Cup have placed Brazil on a new level on the international scenario.

"These events have brought positive prospects for the infrastructure, industrial and service sectors and have placed Brazil among the worlds biggest players", Paulo Godoy affirmed.

Abdibs president added that in the long-run the subsalt reserves alone are expected to generate a turnover of US$440 billion in terms of technological development, increase in industrial capacity, construction of shipyards and job creation.
"Meanwhile, the World Cup and the Olympic Games will lead to the construction of new sports venues and improve the transport and telecommunications infrastructure, the electricity supply and security, health, hotel and tourism services", he added.

The 2016 Olympic Games will inject $51.1 billion into Latin America’s largest economy through 2027 and add 120,000 jobs a year through 2016, according to a study by a Sao Paulo business school for the Ministry of Sports.

A recent report from the International Monetary Fund predicts that the Brazilian economy will grow by 3.5 percent next year, enough to help lift the whole of Latin America and the Caribbean out of the global financial crisis.

All of these events provide a great opportunity for investors, and we have the experts that have the inside track on many of these projects.
