Known as the “Wonderful City”, Rio de Janeiro offers attractions that have rendered the city international fame. There is no doubt that most amazing popular party in the world is the famous Carnaval of Rio de Janeiro. You have also probably heard about the statue of Christ Redeemer, which recently entered among the 7 new wonders of the world and see the post card scenery of the Sugar Loaf Mountain. The beach of Copacabana has gained a fame in the entire world and inspired artists world wide. Maybe you have turned on the radio and heard of the world famous song "Girl from Ipanema" inspired by the second most famous beach of Rio de Janeiro, Ipanema. Rio is all that and much more! Maybe you didnt know, but Rio can offer a lot more than just city life for you. The larget urban natural reservation, The National Park of Tijuca is located in Rio as well allowing the visitors to have direct contcat with preseved nature.  

The city was the Brazilian capital until 1960 – when Brasilia, the current capital, was inaugurated. Due to that historical fact lot of luxurious and imposing constructions can be found from Rio. Whenever you vist Rio, there is always something to do in the city. The Wonderful City has a wide range of other attractions to offer, such as cultural centres, numerous museums, churches, famous confectioners’, old streetcars and beaches – many beaches. After having visited the "must see" sightseeing spots you will find a number of exhibitions, theatre plays, dance/music shows and sports events to choose in between. Rio offers also a wide range of activities for visitors, you can discover the city by biking, hiking in the pathways of Tijuca or try hang gliding, much appreciated by all those who enjoy strong sensations!
